Cambelts
Cambelts in Pwllheli - Hardy's Garage
The most important maintenance item in your engine is the cambelt (also know as the Timing Belt). The cambelt’s job is to keep the camshaft and crank timed as it should be. Over time the cambelt will stretch and as a result the engine timing may get delayed. To avoid nasty surprises, you should have your cambelt checked annually.
Most manufacturers recommend a cambelt change every 40,000 to 60,000 miles or roughly every 5 years.
It depends on what kind of engine you have; in an interference type engine serious, expensive damage can be caused by a snapped cambelt, in a non-interference engine, no damage occurs and a new belt can just be popped on. Give us a call at Hardy's Garage if you have any questions.
As a Servicesure Autocentre, and a member of Trust My Garage, you can be sure that any work Hardy's Garage carry out on your vehicle will be of the highest standard carried out by our qualified and experienced technicians who have decades of experience between them.
